Chicken flavoured salt is generally yellow in colour. Don't leave it open or it absorbs every bit of moisture in the air.

The local chik filet is an exercise in futility. I could care less if I ever eat at one again.

My wife likes them though.

The issue is it's so busy and the lobby has been shut down. So the average wait is 40 minutes for some nuggets and a tea.

I'll pass and go somewhere else for a heart attack in a sack

I really am amazed at how busy that place is at almost every hour of the day they are open.

We don’t go there cause it’s so busy.

Every time we pass the place I am reminded of my favorite Yogi phrase -“no one ever goes there anymore because it’s always so busy”.

Catsup is one thing which I buy organic... sugar rather than HFCS plus you actually can taste the tomatoes.
It probably costs a bit more yet a bottle will last me about 3 years... before I tos it because it's so old.

Chick Fil A and Cracker Barrel are two that are almost always crowded.

I’ve got favorite items at each and I like to have consistency when traveling so I do tend to stop at either of those two when I find myself without a known local place that I like.

CFA sandwiches are good if you need to get something to eat while driving. They aren’t very messy. Reasonably good food.

At Cracker Barrel the rainbow trout is decent and not run of the mill.

Don't try to put ketchup on a hot dog in Chicago. You will start a fight. Local customs are interesting.

Only ketchup on hot dog for me, don’t care for mustard. But I have no reason to go to Chicago.

Don't have either one around here, but 5 Guys is another chain that's always busy. Best fast food burger I've ever had and decent (albeit kind of greasy) fries, kind of pricey though. But don't try to eat one and drive.

Mustard & relish for me. No plans to go to Chicago either.
Poutine must be an acquired taste. I've had it several times, no interest in trying again.
I've had it a few times, it was OK but nothing I'd go out of my way for (not that I'd have to given how close to Quebec we are).
Regional favorites are funny, for the life of me I don't get the appeal of biscuits & gravy, but it seems to be big in the south.

Hey, we don't need that kind of negativity around here!

We like biscuits and gravy in the north too, dangit!

Chick-fil-A is very popular here, always busy. The first is about 6-7 miles from the house, the newer one is just 3 miles away in our town. Same owner is my understanding. They are a very nice and decent family, I was his assistant soccer coach 2 seasons, 10 years ago when our boys were 4 is the only way I know them.

They are ok to me, never had a bad sandwich there, I just prefer Chicken sandwiches from Wendy's and Arby's myself. I think a lot of the patronage here is due to their Christian based religious views and being closed on Sunday.

In N Out Burger I knew from time spent in CA decades ago. It came to Texas 5-7 years ago and every one was always packed like crazy the first few months. Now they seem to have settled down and do a good steady business. It's ok, there are better options around here.

Biscuits, gravy and sausage I love and are definitely a popular weekend hit in my house! I usually make some eggs too.

Umm....I only eat at Chic-fil occasionally, but never ever had the experience you had. Nothing but positive things to say about the Chic-fil stores, except for the incredible long lines in the drive thru.

That defeats the purpose. I can cook something in less time. What is frustrating though and which I've encountered a few times; working in a strange town not knowing when places close. After working late the only place open is a FF place so you pull up to the drive through window- and they shut the lights out. The last time it happened was at a Subway, 10 minutes before they supposedly closed. They saw me pull into the parking lot and shut everything off.

My wife is a Yankee... makes the best biscuits and gravy you ever had; and chicken and dumplings.... fahgetaboutit.... hands down the best on the planet.

They probably figured no one was coming and had everything cleaned then didn't want to have to clean it again.

5 guys really good, but very messy. Very expensive.

I love biscuits and sausage gravy. That is sometimes supper.

Tough luck. They advertise "open until 9:00" they shouldn't be closing the doors at 8:48. It's not like I could go home and cook something, that was a 10 hour drive.
