Everything is relative... I wouldn't hesitate if you're going straight up and down the hill. Across the face is different even when you're not in snow. I'd go slow and let your gut tell you.

Box blade isn't the best implement for snow removal, but if it's what you have, use it.

Good luck
Mike

I hate to disagree with you but the only thing I use is the box blade and it works perfect whether going forward or in reverse for snow removal plus it adds extra weight when using the FEL. I even added a couple extra wings to the box blade to help with moving snow and dirt.

I also use a box blade with good success. The biggest pain is no side angle, so have to push straight, then swing off to the side.

I know it's a bit late, but something I try to be careful about when pushing or pulling snow or dirt, is not to get into an area or situation where you can't get back out

I'm not always successful at that  The FEL helps, plus if you are really stuck and on reasonably level ground, raise the bucket about 3/4 and rapidly drop and raise it about a foot.

This rocks the tractor and has gotten me out of more than one problem. (Especially when only one front wheel spins).

I know that's hard on it, but at 4am and the middle of blizzard conditions and getting people out where no one else can get, you gotta do what you gotta do- can't get off and push!

Hope this helps next time!
