A dealer recommended that I not put a front end loader on a Ford 4000 because he said the front end of the 4000 was too weak - that it would work well for a while, but that enventually the load stress would would cause me to lose the front end. Is this true? Any advice or comments out there?

Unless your 4000 is a 4 cylinder 4000 (1962-1964) or a 4000SU model, your dealer is nuts. A 4000 3 cylinder All Purpose model has as strong a front axle as just about any 50 hp tractor of its time, or pretty much any other time.

Ditto what rick said... the later 3 cyl models from 65+ 4000 had a much better axle design than the older 4 cyl models that had the radius rods.

which 4000 are we talking about?
