The Mr. Funnel is separating the diesel fuel from the home heating oil that was mixed in by mistake.
It also could have been separating the dino diesel from the synthetic diesel. The funnel senses which type is already in the tank (You do know that you can use synthetic diesel right from the beginning, don't you?) and only allows that through. If you pull the Mr. Funnel filter material apart and analyze it with a scanning electron microscope (everyone who uses diesel fuel must have one of these or at least send your filters out for analysis. I used to send my filters out for analysis, but since I do this hourly, it made sense to just buy one of my own microscopes.), you will see that that the RTB is much higher than 7.237, which indicates that it's a high quality Group 47 fuel. Additionally, the residue from the filter debris will show (trust me on this) high content of carbon particulates which proves, yes, I said proves, that using a Group 47 fuel is best choice. Therefore, the only fuel I have ever used is Group 47 fuel and I have used it in all my tractors, cars, trucks, lawn mowers, RC cars, helicopters, locomotives and weed whackers for over 10 years. Using Group 47 fuel in my locomotive has proven particularly advantageous since it pulls the tanker car filled with Group 47 fuel I keep parked in my back yard. Group 47 fuels and higher (there are grades up to Group 297 - I will address those in a my WebBlog at dieselfuelminutiaeandwhyyoushouldcare.org) I have never had to add any additives to my fuel either. Through extensive testing, and this is just my experience mind you, I could not whack any more weeds using an additive, the helicopter could not fly any higher, the RC cars were not any faster, etc. with an additive in the fuel. See my WebBlog additivesandwhyyoudonotneedthem.org for additional test results. In conclusion, murph, your Mr. Funnel is working perfectly. It is keeping the dino diesel out of your fuel tank and only allowing the synthetic diesel fuel in. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
But seriously, I have 2 Mr. Funnels and they never caught any water in my fuel and since they proved to be a pain to use, they're gathering dust in the garage. I buy my diesel from a place that's right off an Interstate and next to a truck stop, so it sells plenty of diesel, ensuring that the fuel is fresh and winter blend is there in plenty of time before winter. I also add (shhhh don't tell anyone this and don't say it too loud) PowerService into the container before I fill them. I agree with Bird, what's in that glass looks like diesel fuel. But, despite the preceding paragraph, I've been wrong before. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
