So, yesterday I was perusing my email and opened one from a friend that had little more than a website lead. Instantly suspicious, I cut and pasted the lead to find someone making great claims about something that was overpriced and probably not worth further investigation. I emailed my friend back to say I suspected her address to have been hijacked which it was.

I for one would never purchase something from a site that used hijacking techniques to spread get their word out. I guess there are many that do else we would not have to put up with this nonsense.

I have this before and usually, it is someone who also frequents social websites? Is this a trend of just random circumstance?

I don't do social myself save for a forum or two. I do admit to signing up for Facebook but have never posted. After making the mistake of signing up for it I decided I did not have time for it. Typically, Facebook did not honor my request to cease and desist after I notified them that I did not want to partake. Thank goodness for email sites that sort out crud like that.

Now that I think of it, sites that do honor your request to cease and desist are far and few between.

It is a shame that such a powerful tool that has brought so much to so many is being rendered more riske' and useless while it is still making such great strides.

Those messages usually harbor a virus that once opened copies and emails all contacts in the readers email files. So, you need to clean your system and run a virus check. The last one that got me emailed a link to buy viagra to all my contacts.....nice huh?
