International 500 E Crawler Hydraulic Pump Front Pump Seal Keeps Leaking

I have had the hydraulic pump rebuilt twice. The first time after I reinstalled it and filled with fluid and as soon as it started the front seal blew. Removed pump sent back to hydraulic shop after they found their problem reinstalled again and after running for 1.5 hours seal is leaking again. any ideas as to why it keeps leaking?.

It is possible the shaft is worn.

They would surely have spotted shaft wear, but you never know. .

How is this pump mounted and driven? Is it bolted solidly to a housing and driven by a gear or something similar inside?

I helped a neighbor diagnose a broken hydraulic pump drive shaft on a Steiger. The pump was driven by a tang on a shaft that fit into a gear in the transmission. The bearing holding the gear was very loose and within a short time had broken the shaft on the second hydraulic pump. You could have the same issue. That being that there is nothing wrong with the pump but the wrong could be in what drives the pump.
