I have a chance to by a 424 for $1500.00. The guy that has it says the only reason he is selling it is because he bought a 4x4 tractor with loader and doesn't use this one any more. He also said that everything worked from lift to pto. Tractor is gas and does not have power steering. Have been around tractors my whole life just not internationals. Is this a good buy and were there any problems with this tractor in the past? Looking for something I can restore but still be able to use to mow with. Also in the pictures I was sent the side panels on each side of the engine and looks like some sheet metal from under the dash were not on the tractor. The guy that has it might have the missing sheet metal but hasn't responded to me about it yet. How hard are parts and sheet metal to find for this tractor?

Did you buy the 424? I have one I picked up a year ago for 1800 with a 7 ft meyer
plow on it. I'm in the process of reconditioning it now. these are great tractors.
