I need more traction travelling over sand with my DK50. My problem is this though I also do about 50% of the tractor work on bitumen (tar, black, whatever you call it in the north).

The list of tire options goes on and on eg. type of tread, loaded or not loaded yet there appears to be no really good multi use option. Do you think someday intelligent tires will be available that maybe can automatically change pressures, tread etc when they encounter different ground or loads. At present it is a real tire compromise for multiple use tractors.

Now that is a case of intelligent design that makes real sense. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's called asphalt in my neck of the woods.

Vin,

I know what you need. Do a search on "Mach-5", secondary search "Speed Racer". The Mach-5 had ability to change tread type while in action. I believe it was the "C" button /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Is Bitumen like chip seal? My road is chip seal. I have about 6" of compacted gravel base(3/4AB-3/4 gravel with finings in it). Over that they lay a coat of thick oozy oil, and then place chipped rock in/over the oil.

It's blacktop here in Vermont. Asphalt is what you go see a proctologist about.

Or asphelt.

"Listen lady, we're only here to pave. Now how do you want your asphelt?"

Real quote, thought the boss was going to have kittens. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
