Installing Snow Blower738X

Hoping someone can help me out here. I purchased my first Deere this summer and bought a 54inch snowblower at the same time. I am now attempting to hook up.the blower and seemed to have forgotten the demo I received 7 months ago.

My tractor came with a 54 inch drive over, quick connect deck. I had no problem removing the deck. I hooked up the front quick hit hitch, attached the blower, attached the blower driveshaft to the tractor and connected the hydronic lines.

Where I am running into trouble is connecting the driveshaft from the front axle to the rear axle. The drive shaft seems to be about 8 inches to long. It also does not appear to hook into the quick connect assembly that the mower deck uses. Do I need to remove the quick connect assembly? If so, my manual does not include steps for removing?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated as winter storms are expected overnight. Thank you in advance.

On the 1-series, you do have to remove the quick connect for the mower.

I'm not sure about the X700s but it is probably similar.

If you call your dealer, you may be able to find out for sure.

yes, the front pto kit for your tractor does not work with the autoconnect mid pto
parts for your mower deck. you can remove the mid mower lift and autoconnect system
with 4 pins and store it with your deck.
there could be another option, some newer autoconnect kits are coming with a small cable
and pin to lock it up out of the way, and then it's pto shaft goes over the the right side of
the transmission and hangs on an installed hook. i'm sure you could use some other means
to support the lift brackets (if you don't have that small cable)
and hopefully your pto hook has been installed for the shaft.
