How big of a job would it be to add a 485 backhoe to a 2010 3535? Would it be just a matter of buying the 485 and hooking it up or would there be a lot of dealer prep work and tractor reconfiguration?

You should be able to do it yourself, i hook my hoe by myself. You can do it.:)

I believe the backhoe has a subframe that also has to be installed on your tractor. To me, that would be dealer work. Once the subframe is installed the mounting and unmounting of the backhoe is pretty simple.

The dealer allows 11 hours for the install, and they said it takes every bit of it. Have them do it, especially if your tires are loaded.

11 hours? It is a bit of work to get the sub-frame mounted, but if a experienced installer started at 8am and was not done by noon then he was messing around or ran into an issue. I would have the dealer do it though, unless you have experience in such things. Sometimes a hole needs to be reamed a little, or bolt is the wrong length that came in the kit, or a fitting is wrong. That doesn't happen often, but often enough to create an issue. We have a hardware store of bolts, fittings, etc., so we aren't set back if we run into little snags like that.
