Re: installing a heated driveway?

Anyone got any suggestions on installing a heated driveway?

From what I can see the best heated driveways are located in southern Florida, Southern California, or points south... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The only suggestion I can think of is SAVE YOUR MONEY...as heating a driveway may be a lot more expensive than heating a insulated living space...

Re: installing a heated driveway?

At my business we heat about one driverway every two years. I do have my sidewalk and my front porch heated in my own personal house. I did it with Wirsbo Heat. There is other brands of tubing out there and now there is even a company making electric. Either way, as Henro says, it is expensive. I did not put mine on a thermostat but on a timer. So I go turn the system on for about 4 hours and it then turns itself off. I only use it a couple times a year. Otherwise I mostly just shovel it. Don't have the monies to run it all the time.
