Nice job.
How did you tap in for the voltage?
Same circuit as the headlamps?
New fuse/new switch different circuit?

I have been thinking of doing the same and am more than willing to use your experience to simplify mine.
Thanks

I got the lights at my local JD dealer for $25 bucks each.....then some wire and those angle irons and some connectors. The 790 has a harness near the drivers seat that you tap into and work off your headlight switch.
Trust me it had to be simple if I did this myself.
I saw on a thread here that someone posted a link to some brackets for these lights. They wanted $30 each!! I made mine for just a few bucks.:p

Looks great Ezlivn!

I might be doing this myself soon on a 2720!

Looking at your pics got me thinking! Do you (or anyone) think there is any reason why a (square edged) U-Bolt with a straight bracket or bar (straight bracket/bar down - so the U-bolt is upside down). I am thinking the straight bar would not be the one the U-bolt comes with, but would need to be heavier and perhaps an inch or 2 longer to accomodate a hole for the light bracket bolt. :confused3:

I would imagine a typical bracket/bar from Stanley or National or whoever manufactured your angles would work. Just curious....

You're right the square type U-Bolt was actually my first option but as luck would have it, the hardware store did not have a 3 inch.....thus i went with plan B!:D

Looks good! Did about the same thing on my 4100. Learned 2 things though, I put quick disconnects on the wiring so I could take them off easily due to tree branches and 2)keep a spare bulb or two handy because the vibration up there must be hard on them.

Hey, was not knockin' plan b. It does work and Ezlivn you did an excellent job!

Thanks for the insight

I did something similar to this on my 2210 about 8 years ago. Hooked the lights into the main light circuit which brings power to the back for the rear worklight. They have worked fine for 8 years and I have had zero problems, no burnt out lights or anything....no problems with vibration on mine......nice job. :)

@Ezlivin - what is the structure you use to park your tractor?
It looks like it is made from fabric & pipe.
I need something similar.

Shelter logic 12x20 garage I bought at Tractor supply for $350 bucks. I anchored it on 4 very very heavy railroad ties.

Are both those lights running off the same wire? Whats the max power you can pull off that wire safely?

No they each have their own wire. Pretty simple hookup

Are you happy with it? It gets mixed reviews on the Tractor Supply web site. Many reports of frays, rips, bad zippers etc. More than 1 report of only a 2 year life expectancy.

I've only had it up for about 2 weeks. So far I like it just fine. It's tedious building it but it goes up very easy. I did it all by myself and needed an extra pair of hands to but the large tarp on.

I'm happy with it.

Using the square Ubolts and 2" aluminum plate from TSC.

Nice job.
I just ordered front lights for my 3320 (part # LVB25546) and I think I'll run another switch to the spare slot on my fender. Awhile back someone had the part number for the switch. Does anyone have it off hand?

Thanks,
Rob

Now I need to find a cup holder I can hook up to my ROPS. Anyone got any pics or ideas of how they did theirs?

I use this. It is available from John Deere and other on-line suppliers. The metal tabs grab and hold various size containers better than the open ones tractors now come with. As with any tractor cup holder you need to use a covered bottle to keep from sloshing everything out. The flat bottom one is what I always see in the stores and requires our old timey flat fenders.

I was going to add some light on my roll bar but I was concerned about how many bugs it would draw in the summer time. On my 755 with the lights in the fender it seems to draw them to me worse then the 4700 does with no lights back there. Do any of you have a problem with that.
