JD 2320; 4520
To all, I have had a fellow interested in my 2320. Not sure if he is going to buy it, but unless I find my dream property (I have two current areas which I am considering) I would likely look to replace the 2320 if I sold it with a 1026R. It is smaller tractor but would likely do everything I would need until I get more land. What have others who have recently bought this machine paid?? I would likely get the 60 Autoconnect mower, the deluxe grille guard, front end loader and 48" box blade to start. My dealer is a good friend of mine but his dealership is part of a larger conglomerate now so his pricing has not been as aggressive of late. I have done the tractor on the website spec sheet, and then taken 10-12% off that but I am not sure with this being a hot little tractor all places are giving much discount. Thoughts?

Well I can't say how much I payed, because I'm embarrassed to have spent so much on a lawn mower. I can say that when I bought there were none in stock any where, and had to wait a month to get it. My discount off list was in the range that you are expecting. I'm not sure what the discount will be like now that they are on the dealer's floors. On the bright side, the '12s have some exciting new features!

I get the impression that they are trying to aggressively move the 1 series. My dealership is advertising the 1026R, alone, for $10,699 - which is about 15% off. I'm not sure about the mower, but I can come pretty close to actual pricing if I figure somewhere around 13% discount off of MSRP. Remember you get another $500 off if you get two implements, with the Deere season promotion.

I actually looked at the 1026R today when I was at the dealership - they look like nice little tractors, and was very comfortable when I sat on one.

Happy Hunting...

Best price I got was $14600 for a 1026R with the H120 front loader. That was back in December. Since then, I know dealers have gotten more stock and are probably pricing more agressively.

Back in December, I got a quote for 14,436 for a 1026 w/ the H120 front end loader. I'm not in a position to buy but it is a nice SCUT. I recently saw the commercial out for them, looks good.

We see ~$14,600 as the standard price for the 1026r with a H120 loader in the Western NY area.

Is this just with the loader, or the mower deck as well?

This was only for the tractor and loader. My friend bought a 54" rear discharge Frontier mower which is really a Woods RDC54 mower. The mower was an extra $2,000.00.

I was recently quoted $17,689 for:
1026R
60D deck setup with auto connect and hydraulic lift
H120 Loader
iMatch quick Hitch
Rear Work Light

That price includes $150 set up fee and $200 John Deere shipping charge that the dealers pass along.

Supposedly, the $500 discount for buying 2 implements is included with the 1026R price as it was not a line item on the quote.

If I add a backhoe the price goes to $23,313.

It's hard to break it out, but
1026R with iMatch, rear light, shipping and setup fee $11,687
60D mower with autoconnect with hydraulic lift $2546
H120 Loader $2895
2.25% sales tax $389

Adding the 260 backhoe is $5500 (includes power beyond kit and $140 setup fee)

This is the dealers first quote to me and we have not begun to negotiate yet, but I think there is plenty of room to haggle and get a lower price.

I just paid 18700 for the TLB (1026R, H120, 260BH)- only other included option was a coolant heater

Don't mean to be nosy rockshaft, but was that a cash price or did you finance. I will be taking JD up on 0% for either 48 or 60 months and wondering if you were able to get that deal and 0%.

Thanks

Jim

I got my 1026 with 60d autoconnect mmm, canopy and hood guard for around $14,000 back in August. It was the last one my dealer had at the time. The salesman quoted me about $22,500 (I think) to include a loader and backhoe. I recently bought a 48" Taylor Way box blade for $450.

Dang , for a couple of thousand more you can buy a 2320... I admit it's the same engine ,but m thought is better hyd. I'm thinking of selling my 2305 and going with 2320. May have to change my mine and go with 1026r !!

you may want to test the 1026R before you decide on the 2320, I doubt you'll see any difference in the hydraulics between the two, in fact you may like the 1026R better

Although bigger, I have heard the 2320 is a little underpowered for its size and that the next step up from a 1026R should be to a 2520.

The 2320 is not underpowered for mowing. Mine has nosed its way through any grass I have sought to cut. My main issue with my 2320 is that it is a large tractor for mowing unless one has a very open area and pretty hard ground. When looking at my current 2320 v. my previous bigger machines it seems small, but when paired side by side with a 1026 it seems enormous. It does make depressions in the lawns that I mow unless I am really careful about changing my pattern EACH time I mow. With loaded tires (which I need for loader work), this machine and mower as configured weighs well over 2000 pounds. I try to remind myself that this is like running over the lawn multiple times with a small car. This is one reason for my looking at the 1026, similar engine power in a smaller package that mows a little better due to its smaller size.

Do dealers typically offer a better cash price if not financing? Since Deere isn't offering any discounts on the 1026R ( other than the 2 implement $500 off deal) it seems they don't care if you finance or pay cash, does that seem like an accurate assessment when pricing out a 1026R? Or should I still be looking for a better cash price?
