Tractor
Kioti DK45SC, Kubota B2650
Today my DK45 injector rack broke for the third time. The first time, it stuck in the off position...wouldn't start and wouldn't run. A year or two ago, it stuck in the full-on position (very exciting!). Today it happened again. Rebuilding the injector rack, plus labor for extracting and reinstalling it comes to over a $1000. That is cheaper than brand new replacement, but, if this is going to happen every few years, then I'm ready to trade my Kioti in on some other manufacturer's offering. Very frustrating...and too often seems to happen in the coldest part of the winter.
Has anyone else with this vintage Kioti suffered this recurring issue? I thought once it was fixed, it would stay fixed!

Thats weird. How old is the tractor. Mines a 2010 vintage with 1300 hours….
no issues at all.

I would suspect water is getting in your fuel. Injection pumps aren’t very accommodating to that.

How have you been storing fuel?
Where are you buying fuel?
Are you using any additives?

You need to flush your fuel system completely. Most injector issues are caused by junk in the fuel.

Injector pump gear failure is a known issue here on many of the 2005 - 2008 Kioti models

Who rebuilt the pump? If they used new old stock parts I could see this happening over and over. The original gear teeth were prone to breaking.

See post #22 in this thread, it may be helpful.

Your wording is confusing..
Injectors don’t have racks unless u have a Detroit engine.
The racks don’t break, the segments do..
Depending on where u got it repaired and where they bought the parts, u might very well be getting NOS..

There is only one shop here that does injector repair (for all vehicles). I doubt they would source OEM parts, so are probably using Xecel (?) or other substitute. Fuel quality (including effects of low turnover) in a small place like this is always a suspect...though I have never had an icing issue in the filter.
I fired it up this morning to move it to a place where the tow truck could access it. I started right up, then ran fine for a minute... and suddenly accelerated to the top!! I managed to jamb it in 4th and stall it in a convenient place for the tow truck. I'll see what the shop says.
Thanks for the suggestions and links.

Wow, not good. Hopefully it’s not too expensive and a quick repair…😬

My 2005 CK 25 went in the off position and I had a dealer rebuild it after Kioti said no to even covering the labor back in 2010 with 238 hrs. Then just a few years ago it happened again but luckily I found the post at the top of this page as well as the other thread that was "CK 25 will not start". Mine went twice inside of 579 hrs and I repaired it this last time for maybe $150. Hopefully there won't be a third.

Maybe you could advise what the issue was and how you resolved it for $150?! 😉

You should maybe check the speed governor. If it a manual governor a spring might be broken or coming unhooked.

From what I can see in various posts this is not hard to repair/rebuild the pump at home. If the common model year I understand the pump gears are readily available

Basically by replacing the control sleeves ( I believe that is what they are called) It is in THIS thread that starts on page 7. It was also very helpful reading the thread that is stickied at the top "Repair option for Kioti tractors with broken injection pumps".
