Got a gravel drive, shared with neighbors. A "road" actually.
Got in a load of item 4 (with small aggregate). Item 4 as it is known here, is basically small stone with grit and stone dust. Road base, some might call it.
Anyway, I'm finding it rather tedious trying to get a surface to my liking.
Basically, I want to pitch the surface to direct run off to one side. Try as I might, once I back off a ways, I can see the pitch is what I want, so I guess my perception while "in the chair" is not too good. So, hoping some kind of tilt gauge might help. Looking at Amazon, etc, there are cheap and there are not so cheap.
Wondering what suggestions there might be. "Right tool for the job" may be suggested, but that is not in the cards.
Machine is a Kubota B21 with a "4-way" bucket on the front end.
I should add that one issue I have, as operator, is that I cannot see the front edge of the bucket, or the orientation of the blade, when "extended", or the bottom of the bucket is, when closed up. So that leads to me making "gouges" at times. That is just an additional annoyance I thought I would throw in the mix.
