My Mitsubishi 372 is a 15hp 2cyl diesel and I run a 42" bush hog with no problems as long as I have weight on the ft.
Since Mine is a 2wd it is rather lacking in the ground engagment equipment like a disk or middle buster kind of thing but a tiller that isn't too heavy up too about 48" should be no problems as long it is rated for it.
I plan on gettin a 45" tiller for mine as soon a $$$$ comes available.

My 18 hp Satoh Buck lifts and pulls a 48" Woods rear mounted finish mower, 48" tiller and a disc that you would not think it could pick up. I'm tempted to say 5' but have not measured it. Picked up a round bale Saturday and walked off with it after brother threw it off in my front yard. To be fully honest, some of it unrolled but probably not over 100 lbs worth. I have a good size wheel weight on the front.
