Ok 2 questions. Assuming no cost for steel.

1. I have a 5' bush hog the top is toast the gearbox is top notch. Frame kind of sketchy as well. So is it worth rebuilding into a 4'? I figure i can cut 6 inches off each side and narrow it it down. Figure length does not matter.

2. I also have a 4' disc that was built for a draw bar. Is it feasible to convert to 3 point? I think the best way would be to make a frame the gangs to bolt too.

The tip speed would be lower as a 4ft. And have to rebuild the stump jumper or shorten blades. Unless I needed to get into narrow spots, I think I would leave it 5ft and go slower or partial cut if needed.

For the disc, I would look at other 3pt discs and copy the one I liked.

Thanks. Yea its the trails im working through they run about 4+ feet. That's the whole issue. It's leased land I can't go chopping trees down to widen the trails.

Thanks for the advice. I think the land pride tube frame looks simple just a square frame with arms for the gangs and the 3 point

Do you have a boom pole? Perhaps leave it as a towed disk and use a boom pole to lift it up?

on the cutter you would at least need to buy new blades and possibly even a stump jumper + your labor to repair it.

Im not sure how the used implement market is in your area but down here Ive seen 4 ft disk, and cutters $300-400

Well no boom pole.

It already needs new blades so that's going to happen either way. It dosent have a stumpjumper at all just a straight bar mount.

I'm in South Alabama on the coast. 4' implements seem hard to find. New I can order at 6 or 700 but that gets pricey.

Appreciate all the advice.

I think I'm just going to cut the sides down make it 4' wide leave it longer and get shorter blades. Keep it easy.

Make a box frame. And move the gangs over.
