Re: I\'m glad everything is not built like my 4110
KENB- My 4110 now has a little over 1100 hours on it. Mine was produced in 2001 and I bought it new in Feb. 2002, it is the TYM built tractor. I had a major mechanical problem about this time last year (4110-broken bolts) that I was really hot about but I repaired my tractor myself and moved on. I have really worked my tractor, used it commercially for 2 years and work it even harder for my own projects. It has always been kept outside and it shows - my paint is pink, my light switch is a little cheesy but still works, a little rust under the paint at seams, cracked plastic fenders etc. I have one reoccurring mechanical problem that I've had since new - I'll snap a front axle occassionaly, usually the left front, but I can change it in 30 minutes on the work site and the new axle is around $45. I was told by a Mahindra tech to run the front tires at max. inflation and the rears as low as I dare - obviously they have (had?) the gear ratios in the differentials mis-matched for the tires they use. I keep the fronts good and hard but I can't bring myself to run those tubeless rears any lower than 12 psi - don't want to bust a bead loose and lose all that methanol. I haven't had any of the other problems I've read about on the site here - no ground problems, no PTO problems, not a single leak anywhere. I work my tractor very hard but maintain it religously. Overall I have been very happy with my 4110, but like with anything mechanical, there will be failures. I was a professional auto mechanic for 34 years and have seen just about everything you can imagine happen to vehicles, this tractor isn't any different. I believe I would buy another 4110 if I were looking for a tractor again - for all the problems I've had, the amount of work this baby has put out has made it worth it in my opinion.
