IH disc

This is a pic of my old IH 490 disc that I've been working on to get back in shape. We have been tightening up the gangs, putting grease to a lot of fittings and I've used a gallon of paint so far. It's an 18 footer with hydraulic wings. Could not get anyone to haul it until we got it down in size to 12ft.6in.

I put a lot of hours pulling one of those. Great disc. I wore out faster than it did. It will really dig if used with the wings raised. Nice disc for a 90-120 hp tractor. I think our was a 21' but not sure. What do you pull it with?

Is that a 1086 IH in the background?

In our area it took a 1066 with duals to pull that size in our hills. Level ground in nice!

I will pull it with a 1066 that's putting out 140 hp. I have duals for the tractor but will see how it goes with just the two tires. Plenty of hills here also, will be anxious to see what the ole IH will do with it.

Without duals, your going to have quite a bit of slippage. Fluid in the rear tires? Maybe ok for smaller acres. You should have the power for it unless you have big hills. You can disk with the wings up if needed.
