IH 674 Coolant drain plug location

Hi, Recently got an old diesel 674. Need to drain off some of the coolant to add anti freeze but cant seem to find a drain plug. A bolt above the starter motor looks promising but I'm afraid to go at it lest some vital component fall off inside the engine Would be grateful if someone would point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the reply Art. Access to the rad drain was difficult due to front loader and it's brackets. That bolt above the starter is indeed the engine block drain so the job was easy from there.
I notice that my old MF135 would start easily on an icy morning but the 674 does not like the cold!

A tractor of that vintage might have had a common valve job by this point in it's life reducing the compression making it a hard starter.

The fuel shut off is also an over fueling valve for the pump at about 1/2 to 2/3'rds movement that should put it to be able to start down to about zero with out trouble.. You should be able to see it on the injection pump!

I do like QT loaders!!!!!! It's the only kind to have as it makes working on an engine so easy!!!!
