Spreader IH 540 spreader help

Anyone have a IH 540 manual or a picture of how the widespread and Apron drive cables and springs are all attached at the rear of spreader, behind rear shield??.

Looks like a cable had broke at one time and it is pulled back to have widespread on at all times.

Many have left the beaters engaged do to the fact that they normally had to have them on when they were running the apron. We had many customers that when the cables broke they left them engaged and just used the PTO on the tractor.

We had some that the teeth had worn and were welded to keep them engaged when they traded them in.

These spreaders have't been made for over twenty five years. They were a good spreader but parts prices go up on discontinued machines and you might not need to fix that part depending on your operation.

We'd like to be able to unload our bedding by just running the floor web and not the widespread.

I understand the idea, Just can't figure out correctly how the puzzle(cables and springs) goes back together
