i did end up repairing it using electrolysis. it was extremely rusted inside. i put a whole mess of ball bearings inside and shook the tank first to loosen the rust. then i plugged the tank and filled with water and baking soda. 1tbsp baking soda to 1 gallon water. i placed my positive electrode{ a stainless steel rod} inside the tank so that it was not touching the tank itself. a plastic spray paint cap worked best as a support for this. by simply drilling a hole through it. then i cleaned a spot on the tank to bare metal for the negative ground. then hooked up pos/neg to a 12v battery charger and waited two weeks. flushed out tank with water then coca-cola to remove black oxide film then water .. let it dry for a few days.. the end result was a brand new tank.. amazing
