Some comedian 20+ years ago coined the term "obliviots". I think this applies here.

They are everywhere in life...wife is driving right now on I40 toward Nashville...lots on the road, too.

“Don’t be that guy”. I like that. On occasion I’ve deleted a post before actually posting when I catch myself doing that. Apologies to all when I have posted them anyway.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who does that. Not always but am getting better at it...

I often write posts, here or elsewhere, or emails - and I've learned to always proofread them before hitting "send".

Look for the typical spelling / punctuation / grammatical errors... but most of all, I try to ask myself: "Is it going to do any good to post this?"

If it's just a ****post that'll do no harm (on a very different social media), that's one thing. But if it's going to actually detract from a conversation, I try to rein myself in. I probably delete more posts than I submit in some places. Often I'm only partway through writing a response when I realize "no this isn't going to help things one bit" lol. Just stop, take a breath, metaphorically walk away.

That brings to mind this song, just because of those last two words, and while it's got nothing to do with this discussion I'm going to make you scroll by it at the very least
