If there are aliens, what will they look like?

You certainly didn't understand much while you were in those classes nor much of the average subjects that pop up in life.

So for starters you are basically saying you don't understand inertia or relative velocity.

I'm almost too scared to ask if you in fact are a flat earther. That would actually explain a great deal.
Uh oh you are using big words. I'm getting scared. 🤠
You do understand that if the earth were rotating 1,000 mph at the equator the rotational speed at the poles would be zero?
This would mean that as you travel from equator to north or south pole the rotational velocity would be less and less AND your weight would be affected to some degree.
Do you also understand that you cannot bend water without a container? Water always seeks its level when left to atmosphere, which is why its called sea-level.
So keep speaking down to me while I point out more absurdities of the globe earth universe.

I was able to understand it when I was 7 years old...

Congratulations. I didn't know you went to the moon. Hope you didn't travel in the tin can made of tin foil and curtain rods called the lunar module.

Uh-oh... We got us a moon landing denier.

Everyone needs to believe in something, I believe I'll have another beer!"

The reason the earth does not turn below you as you "jump up" or float in a balloon is FRICTION! Another one of those physical laws like GRAVITY. It's the old RELATIVITY thing.

BOY! Was it WINDY here last night. Where did all that air go? A howler! But it didn't seem to change position of any of the stars. ;-) The lack of significant differences in the FEEL of the pull of gravity was described nicely in a previous post. It had to do with "orders of magnitude" and other cryptic stuff like math.

I wonder if aliens will have overcome friction and gravity when they arrive? (With their pointy ears and big eyes.)

I was told in HS and at uni (if still accurate) that our Moon's orbit is decaying by roughly 1 foot per 100 years. At some point our descendants may want to 'keep' it where it is ... or not.

Actually, the Moon is moving farther away from the Earth, as the tidal drag on the Earth is slowing it down in it's orbit, stealing energy from it, and that makes it move away from the Earth. Billions of years ago, the Moon was much closer to the Earth, but the tidal drag has caused it to recede to it's present orbit. So at some point, the Sun's gravity will be strong enough disturb it's orbit sufficiently to break free of the Earth's gravitational influence and flung somewhere else in the solar system.

3 experiments you can look up that demonstrate a non-moving and non - rotating earth:
The Michelson-Gale experiment (1904)
Astronomer Royal Sir George Biddell Airy experiment (1871)
The Sagnac experiment (1913)

Lastly, the Bedford Level Experiement carried out by Samuel Birley Rowbothman in the summer of 1838.
