i1046 electical problem ?

When i turn the key on my i1046 (zero turn lawn tractor) I get nothing on the LED readout, which I believe used to light up as soon as the key was turned. But I can't exactly recall (funny how these things pass you by).

The starter will engage, it will not fire. Fuel pump is working fine. Seems to me that I'm not getting spark.

Before I start tearing this thing apart, is this indicative of any common known issue?

first off, check your manual - I believe there is language in there that details what you should/should not see when switching on. Secondly, would suspect the switch itself... BUT would advise taking plenty of pixs/note before starting unhooking wires/harnesses/connectors/etc.... and only replace with OEM parts ( have read too many horror stories of people buying aftermarket noname parts -switches in this case - and getting burnt - literally.)
Oh - most common problem cause for this? tractor washed down with garden hose or power washer.....

Thanks - yeah the hour meter does not come on, which it should. The starter turns, but nothing happens. No water involved. I was sweeping the lawn and stopped to empty the hopper and it would not start again. It's been very reliable to this point other than the switch on the brake needing to be replaced. I guess it's time to start tearing into it. Ugh.

I thought i'd probably find a cub cadet electrical problem troubleshooting steps list someplace, but no luck. with the myriad of safety switches this thing has it's a wonder it ever runs at all. ;-)

Ooops - forgot my "cub cadet troubleshooting 101" skills and just played around with jiggling wires for a bit until I found the connector that had come loose, and viola! a working tractor again. Argh. But yay!
