I thought I had found a good pair of gloves.

I mean - if they are supposedly riggers gloves, they have to be tough, right?
I guess not.
7 months after buying, they are coming apart. Does anyone out there know of any good work gloves that are not cheap crap?
I think I have tried them all.

Another vote for WL - I get them at Costco by the 3 pack.

I get the old school elk skin leather. For me they are fantastic.

Maybe I am approaching this all wrong. I need to set my mind on buying new gloves every 6 months.

widefat - my experience. The hardest thing I do both on the 'ol bod and on the gloves - thin, drag, chip - young Ponderosa pines. Every spring - 750 to 900 - from 1" to 6" in diameter.

I've tried expensive leather gloves - $65 a pair from Aerostich and cheapies from Wells Lamont - $12 for two pair. Conclusion - they both provide adequate protection and both last about the same length of time. I use the Wells Lamont. I use the expensive pair riding my BMW - they last forever riding a motorcycle.

I think you're on to it there. I don't think I would ever find a single pair of gloves that would last a year. Though, I guess it depends on the type of work you do with them. After a month or so I am looking to toss my glovessel just to start with a fresh pair. Enough sap, paint, grease, etc and I want to switch.
