I thought I had found a good pair of gloves.

I wear Nitrile gloves when lubing the tractor, FEL, grapple etc, etc. Cuts down on the clean-up afterwards. Come in 150 pack at Costco. I can grease things up and come out looking like the TAR BABY - straight out of the tales of Brer Rabbit & the tar baby. At least - clean hands are a good starting point on clean up.

Einthewoods - boy, you got that right. My poor old hands - first thing in the morning. Helps a lot to hold them under hot water or hold them up to the shower head when taking a shower. Age sure lets you know where you abused your poor old bod when you were younger.

Those look good but pose 2 problems to me - Where can I buy just one in their largest size (XL?) to try, and since I'm really cheap and always willing to buy in quantity to save $$ - how long will it take me to go through 144 pair?? for $390 :)

You can buy 1 pair on amazon as well.

I usually wear xl for most glovessel but large in these. Fit good and tight for dexterity. If I want to take one off without using my other hand, I put them between my legs and pull them off.

Forgot to add...

I guess I go through a pair once a very couple of months. I have a pair in my truck, a pair in my tractor, a pair in the house, a couple pair on my work bench, etc. So I don't wear one pair.

I second or third the three pack from Costco. Last as long as more expensive ones from tsc etc.

I mean - if they are supposedly riggers gloves, they have to be tough, right?
I guess not.
7 months after buying, they are coming apart. Does anyone out there know of any good work gloves that are not cheap crap?
I think I have tried them all.

hm...I tried posting a link to Northern Tool, where I bought them, but it defaults to that **** site vigilink.

But here they are -

I really like various gloves from Stihl. These are currently my favorite for "normal" yard work

I have over 20 pair of gloves at the ready. I most often reach for the Goatskin. I get them at Fleet Farm but You can get them at Amazon as well.

I’d send a pic but the site won’t let me.

I like goatskin too. It is a very thin and tough leather. I buy mostly pigskin. Tough and cheap. Doesn't get hard from heat and sweat as fast as cowhide.

An industrial supply will have better gloves than the Costco coated nitrile. They make Dyneema, Stainless, Kevlar, use barrier films to keep pesticides out, coat with nitrile, polyurethane, PVA, neoprene, etc. And, they come in sizes.

Do you have a link for the single pair 451's in XL?
I couldn't find it on Amazon. The only place I found it on the net they wanted about $5 for the glove and $5 for shipping. I could have gotten free shipping if I spent another $2,495!

I've switched to rubber dipped palm cotton nit gloves similar to these
Large Dipped Latex Gloves | Princess Auto

They go on sale packages of 10 pairs of gloves for $10 bucks. They last just as long as the expensive mechanics leather gloves and provide excellent grip for tools etc. even when greasy. I avoid the nitrile dipped as they are slippery when wet or greasy. The larger cotton nit makes them breathable and they dry out quickly. They can be super grippy when new...almost too grippy. Great for handling wood, branches, power tools, shovels, rocks, etc.

At a buck a pair I don't mind throwing them out when I get holes in them. I like the leather mechanics gloves but I cry throwing away a $10 pair after one or two days hard use.
