I agree with the top link. The side link has limited use. It's only useful with a box blade imo. I use my hyd side link very little.
I use mine all the time with the drag blade. But, of course, I have a dirt drive. No way to cut the berm otherwise. I wouldn't be without the hydraulic top link now either. It changes the aggressiveness of the blade--Plus or minus depending on what I need at the moment.

Like I said though, my blade has a tilt cylinder so the side link is only good for my box blade-which does have use

That side like will also cause some hole wallowing on the three point if you use it to the best of it's ability.

How so? :confused:

Any "tooL" that makes my life easier is worth the price. At my age, the drawback is null.

Well, a hydraulic side link has either got to have a spherical end, or a loose hole to fit into on the lift arm, otherwise it's gonna make it loose!

Most DIY side links (made several myself) use the solid (rod) OEM link by cutting off the ends and welding them to the cylinder...The process is well documented in other threads here...don't recall anyone ever having an issue...!

Because the lower links, depending on how your tractor is set up, don't have enough play to allow different heights on them. My mx5200 doesn't anyway.

The two disc Ferguson plow looks to me like the one that's sometimes called a bullet plow. All of the ones I remember being called that, were gray. A dedicated Ferguson buff might know whether being gray is a requirement for the nickname.

Lets see if this will make my 5,000th message.

And there you go. Mine does. 🚜
These are the holes that wallow out because they don't have the ability to have different heights;
