I've spent over 2 weeks working on buying a tractor. Tuesday I put $1000 down on this tractor. Yesterday I signed the paperwork on this tractor I dont know why I could'nt have signed the paperwork tuesday. I had to wait 2 hours yesterday to sign the paperwork cause the saleman had started them yet. knowing I was going to be there at 11am. 130 yesterday afternoon I asked if I could carry it home now and the saleman said he would have it ready this morning{friday}. So I take my 3rd day off this week to buy this tractor. I get there at 11am this morning and my tractor is in the same spot it was yesterday. Aight whats the big deal? The dealership had been using this tractor to level out some gravels in their lot. More like clay. The axels have 5" of mud and gravel on top of them. The loaderbucket is halfful of mud and gravel. Oh yea the saleman just unhooks the box blade and hooks up my mx6 cutter and parks my tractor on my trailer. "There you go, enjoy". Now as I said earlier I have taken 3 days off this week just to get this tractor home. So I was'nt going to waste another day and argue about the mud and rocks. When I get home I'm fixing to go try out the mx6 on some badly needed briars and sage grass. Something knawing in the back of my mind tells me to check the oil first. 2 quarts low well actual I put in 2 quarts and its 3/4 of the the lines. Coolant is low I'm not sure how much cause I have'nt put any in yet as I dont have any here. I'll have some tonight.
I know ya'll might think I'm being picky but I cant help it. One thing is for certain I will not do any more busness there. Have not made up my mind yet as to if I'm done with JD. I may seem to being hateful. I'm really not. I'm a busnessman. I take my busness very serious. I go the extra length to make sure my product is the best it can be. It might not be the best on the market but it is the very it could be leaving my sight. The condiction that the tractor left that lot tells me something about how that dealership feelsabout its busness and how the company feels it's customers are worth. If that is how JD feels by God I'll take my money down the road where I should have went to start out with. Everybody at work told me I was a fool for buying green. I've taken alot of critism from the guys cause I've waited 3 years to buy a JD.
I'm going to make the best of it I can. I sure hope the machine is as good as the name carries. I'm sorry to unload all this crap on yall:(

Too many negative waves....I think the voice in your head is saying NO! Best to heed.......

First take pictures of the way they left YOUR tractor. It became yours the day you put $1000 down. Send them a bill for the time they used YOUR tractor as well as for each hour you spent to clean the machine and get it back into the condition it was when it became YOUR tractor. I'd use their shop rate for the cleaning charge.

If they don't pay I'd take them to small claims court.

ToadHill, they have'nt used the tractor since I put the money down. I did'nt take pictures of it at the lot. I dont think it'll do much good to do it now cause they could argue it did'nt leave there like that.

Outlander I've already bought the tractor..... Its already mine. I'm stuck for now.

Was this a "new" machine? Either way, I would be pissed.

No it was used. It's a 97' 5300 w/ a 540 loader. I would post pix but believe me its nothing and I'd be ashamed of how it looks.

Your anger should be directed 100% at the dealer/salesman, NOT John Deere as a whole.

You are 100% right. Thats where it is right now. In my rant I said I was'nt sure about JD right now. I've bled green my whole life. For pete's sake I wear JD work boots, I have JD lawn mowers. My son has all but 7 of the toy diecast toys thats put out since 94'. We can'nt get our hands on them 7. He has 2 JD tractors 1 is a pedal operated and the other is battery. I still want to think that JD has the best product. My 1st dealings w/ the company is not so good and it is not the companies fault so far. Time will tell if this dealer is a reflection on the companies charcter.
I'm brand new at this forum and one of my first couple post was to defend the company. I will say this, I would not have this dealership working for me if it was my company.

first I agree its not John deeres fault and falls fully on dealer. when I bought my new holland not only was it clean but waxed by my dealer, its dirtier now than when they brought it to me. my coworker bought 2 john deeres and they wouldnt let him have tractors till they cleaned them up. If I were you I would complain to owner of dealership he will have more interest than salesman and he will know word of mouth has sold as well as kept from selling more tractors than anything other resource

This is what I thought was the deal why I could'nt take the tractor w/ me yesterday. Seeing how they did'nt do anything to the tractor they wasted days of my vaction time.
