I usually move all my paint, stains and water sealers into the basement from the garage each fall to keep from freezing. Forgot last year, was reading the label on a unopened can of water sealing that said "do not freeze - not effective if previously frozen" It was very cold for a few weeks... jug of summer windshield washer froze solid in garage. Is there some way to tell if these products also froze? Really hate to toss full cans.

Afternoon Mark,
I dont know about the windshield washer fluid, but I have left some of my oil based stains in the garage during the winter and they seemed to be fine in the spring !

The bottom line is I have done the same thing , you just forget, and about this time of year you walk out in the garage, look at the shelf and shake your head ! ;)

I would like to think if the cans didnt bust open,it all should be fine, but ive been wrong before.

Try the paint. If it dries, I would go ahead and use it.

I do the same thing with my paint etc - wood glue from my exoerience is sensitive to frost.

It should be fine. I've had some freese and it still worked fine. It did seem to have more trash in it than normal. Just strain it much more than normal if you are using it in a sprayer.
