Toolcat B series
The fleet is already to go. I hope it snows.

We are running four 5425 with 6' blowers, one 6420 with an 8' blower, one toolcat with blower and blade and two trucks. The four wheelers are for walkways.

Here are pics for everyone. The blowers blow snow while going in either direction.

Perhaps I should unhook a blower or break something. It will snow for sure then!
Maybe we will have the worst January we've ever seen! Crazy weather.

No snow in Minnesota yet as of yet, at least the south half of her anyway. We are seeing temps in the mid 40's.

Dylan,
What brand of snowblower are they?

Are you able to switch directions on the blower out
in the field? How does it work?

It sounds very interesting!

That is a very impressive fleet. You guy's must get ALOT of snow up there. Did you have any so far this year? How about last year? We had a few inches last year and a just a dusting so far this year.

thanks, we usually get 20-25 "events" over 2". This is the amount at which most of our contracts get cleared at. We get another 15 - 20 events around 1/2" to an inch. We only clear those ones for people who pay for that service.

The last few years have not been that good. i'm hoping for a couple of 3'-4' deep storms! It would be fun for the first couple of hours at least.

This year .... is not good so far. We have had two freezing rain events under 2" and that's it. I really need a big storm to get customers to sign contracts. We depend on contracts for fixed expenses like salaries and tractor payments. My overhead is covered, but deep snow brings extra money.

The blowers are called Avalance and are made in Quebec, Canada. They are a new design. One of my units is a prototype.
You can blow either direction in the field, with the flick of a switch. I'll post some closeups in the next few days. Basically the drum rotates back and forth, opening up either the front or the back of the blower. The rotation is hydrualically powered by the rear remotes from the tractor so you need 3 remotes or a fosi valve to split the flow.

They are pretty compact blowers. Almost 2' shorter than my Roberge blowers. Smaller package makes the tractor easier to manipulate in tight spaces.

The 6' unit weighs about 1000 lbs so it is quite robust and the 8' version weighs 2100 lbs.
The reverse direction is great for deep snow or plow banks and the pulling direction is great for dragging out driveways. They are solid and well built and almost never clog. My guys prefer them over all the other blowers.
Here is the link. Check out the video. They are a great company to deal with.

If you want snow come to Denver. We just got 30 inches last week and we might get another 18 inches by Friday.
