I Give Up! Buying Chains for my Kioti RX7320 Cab Tractor

What is the tire size of your tractor? Nothing less than steel works well on ice. You won't tear up your barn floor if you don't spin the tires.
You probably won't need them on front, unless you are having problems steering.

I haven't had to buy chains, as my father gave me a set when I bought my 275, and my 3301 came with them. However, a lot of people have good luck buying them Tire Chains-Best Snow Chains-TireChains.com here.

If you look around you can probably find a deal on Craigslist, or I found a discounted set of Wallensteins for my cousin's Kioti at an orchard supply place in Massachusetts that I do business with.

Member Gordon Gould described an easy way to install them a few months ago; it was part of a long running thread, but perhaps he will post it again.

Thanks for posting the link. I got my JD stuck on ice two days ago.

The ONLY chains I would recommend are the Euro type;
Auiline,
Trygg,
OFA's
these style of chains will provide the best traction and ride quaility of any conventional style of tire chains.

the link below should take you to a thread I posted on how I install chains,
this method works very well for me.

Mine are almost identical, perhaps a newer design. TRYGG.

I used them only on the rear of a M7040. I clear two brothers' driveways which are paved and all that happens is small polished white marks which oxidize black once the sun comes.

The right tool makes life much easier getting the chains secure.

The TRYGG tool is expensive. $280 Canadian $.
It is like a bumper jack from the 1960's. I was going to make my own but 1960's bumper jacks are highly sought items for many $$.

I tried many methods before the TRYGG tool. It is like having a gorilla help you. Unbelievably easy to use.
The TRYGG chains and side links are so hard a 36" bolt cutter wont even scratch them.

p.s. the non uniform chain pattern on the tire was the result of a mis match between tire and chain and has been corrected

You can start with a hi-lift jack if you want to make one. They used to sell a chain tensioner, but I don't see it on their website.

I simply drape each chain over the tire, then drive forward. After hooking them up I drive a couple of rotations and retighten. That's easy with small tires like my 11.2x24 but I can see why you wouldn't want to do it with heavy chains.
What surprised me last weekend when I chained up my father's tractor was how much harder it was to get them tight; they are the same chain and tire size as mine yet they are still loose. The next time I go back down I will have to tighten and shorten them. I know which link they should hook up in, it will just take a little more patience.

Or you could make your own.

I bet those work great. Got a lot of time invested in those, but probably only $100 in materials.

You are right, I have a bit less than 100$ invested in these however they did take me approximately 10 hours to complete. A friend of mine has the TRYGG chains mention earlier in the thread and they are even better. He's had them for 10 years and they are still going strong. His has the grousers on the side chain as well which I think helps with clearing deep snow from the tires path.

I had heavy duty tractor V-bar ladder chains when I had my Ford 1700. Front & rear. They were HEAVY which didn't help with the install. However, once they were on - I could climb a vertical wall. They made the Ford ride like a COB.

Were I to do it again. Definitely some type of the European chain with a better ride. I would have definitely given up some of the traction gained for a better ride.
