I have a "little" Komatsu D20 dozer. I have had it about a year and a half now. It is 40hp, weighs 9000lb, and has a 6 way hydraulic blade. I have built up a driveway through a low area and even took out a few trees with it. I was completely content until this past Tuesday. A buddy of mine from church calls and ask if I would like him to drop his JD 550 off at the place where we are going to build our house. I have ran it maybe 6 hours so far. WOW. I took out some of the bigger sweetgum trees that laughed at my little dozer. There some areas that I have opened up into the woods that I will clean up with my dozer once he comes back to get his. See the picture attached.

If the feelings overwhelm you feel free to send your "old" dozer my way... it sure beats the one I have! (none /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

Never knock that little B7100. I used my neighbors B7100 before I got my Cub to haul 30 trees out of the woods without clear cutting anything. That little tractor was able to get places where my Cub wouldn't without removing trees.

Never fear Jim - My B7100 is a great tractor and has spent many an hour working at full capacity. It is an aggile little tractor in the woods and seems capable of pulling loads well beyond what it's size would indicate.

But there are those times when it does reach it's limits.

Yea, your "little" Komatsu does look a bit overmatched but like Steve M, I'd be willing to give it a home.

I still have many a chores for the little Komatsu. I have been plowing through a lot of brush and larger obstacles with the 550 only to find that when I get to where I am going, I can't even turn around! When I am done with the 550 or he comes and picks it up, then the little dozer will be gainfully employeed again.

I could employ it too. I may be renting one soon - I've been moving so much debris that my 4310 is hitting it's limits when I try to move the pile back. To date when I have to move it I've taken it in chunks, but when I'm done piling it up I think it's dozer time. I'm just going to push the whole mess right back into the woods and let mother nature take care of it. It would be nice to do some grading as well while I've got one there.

In the meantime if it needs employment I am just down the road.
