I couldn\'t help it !!!!!!!!!!!!

I was up at my favorite John Deere/New Holland dealer.
Hayhurst equipment in Pennsboro WVa( wonderful people to do business with).I could not go home without a new green toy.I bought a nice little L130 lawn mower,has a 23 hp Kohler engine,hydro, 48" mower deck.
I got to use it for about an hour this evening and it is a sweet little mower. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
My wife new something was going on when I left this morning and said I was going to the John Deere dealer and did not make it back until 04:30 P.M.

Isn't that the same one they sell at Home Depot?

A buddy of mine looked at them and then went to the JD Dealer and bought one. He felt that if he needed parts or service, the dealer would be much better than Home Depot and I agree!!

Yes it is the same,we do not have a Home Depot yet. They are building one nearby.
The salesman told me that the John Deere dealerships and Home Depot have to sell them for the same price.

I think that is true. But, the dealer would be the logical choice for service. I don't think the boys at Home Depot would have the faintest idea on how to service or fix one.

It's like Lowes, they will sell you a new water heater or furnace but the always have a list of "qualified contractors" for instillation. They don't install squat.

I don't understand why John Deere made a deal with Home Depot to sell JD lawn tractors. It seems to me a slap in the face for a bonafide dealer. Kubota dosen't sell their small lawn tractors at a discount store and neither does NH.

By the way, do you live in the Panhandle or in the Kanawa valley area?

The impression I have is the dealer is more or less excpecting to service these lawn mowers.Lowes in my area sells Wheelhorse and Cub Cadets.

I live in the Ohio River Valley area near Marietta Ohio/Parkersburg WVa.

Can't blame you a bit. I'm not allowed to go shopping in places like that alone any more /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I have had a JD LX255 for several years now (actually, that is considered my wife's tractor, although she isn't the one that uses it most of the time). Great little machine. Enjoy yours.

I would not have bought the mower yet,but my old Craftsman is getting to the age things are starting to go wrong,right now I am waiting on a rebuilt starter,I was looking at the John Deere and the price was not too bad and besides that I liked the John Deere features and ease of use.
The real suprise ( I did not know) is these lawn mowers carry the exact same warranty as the compact tractors,2 years labor and parts replacements,of course I am responsible for getting the mower back to the dealer etc.for any needed repairs.
But I thought that was a pretty good warranty on a riding mower.

Our local Deere dealer sends their mobilshop over to HD to put together the mowers.
They also do all the service work.
Basicly it is just a branch of the dealer.
