Thank Ya'll very much.... I'm anxious to see it.... these pics are all I've ever seen of it.
He bought this tractor brand new in 1971 according to his wife.
His son who does not farm and who insisted we get the tractor has memories of driving it many times.
Sorry for your loss.
Glad see it staying in the family. It has a history, bought new, used, and then restored. I know how he felt about it. Good it was not just sold off.
First tractor I drove was an AC WD45.
1948 Allis Chambers Model B 1976 265 MF / 1983 JD 310B Backhoe / 1966 Ford 3000 Diesel / 1980 3600 Diesel
Very nice tractor indeed. We have the wife's dad 1976 265 MF. While not restored to look new it only has 1300 hours on it and is stock except for the front tires. It was bigger than I wanted but now appreciate the size. Even used the seat belt mowing a neighbor's hill in front of her house while she was in the hospital.
Sorry for the loss of your FIL. You are inheriting a very nice and handy tractor. I had a 170 for several years on my acreage as my only tractor and having the power director clutch made it so easy to do everything I asked. Just traded it last fall for a new Kubota w/cab. Enjoy it!
Kubota M8540HDC, L5740HSTC, BX2200, BX2660, John Deere 425&1025R, Case, Massey Ferguson, Ford
Sorry for your loss but I am glad someone will appreciate something so important to him. We still have dad's one and only new tractor bought new in 1955, my brother still uses it.
Thank you all for your kind words,,,..... The Allis Chalmers tractors of this era were very popular work horses as many have testified, In fact..... I grew up on the farm running a 185 Allis...
Got over to see it today and get it fired up... had to jump it to start it....
it was in better shape than I thought it would be... been 3-4 yrs since restore and also found out that it has been overhauled just prior to restore or as a part of.....
I think my son said its a great looking tractor...
He loved to drive it for the first time.... made me feel real good about the decision...
Sorry for the circumstances that brought it to you, but know ya'll are happy it will stay in the family! Enjoy it. They were made to be used, not just looked at!
