Hydrostatic quirk or total nonsense?

To remind one's self about the relationship of positive displacement pump RPM/flow/pressure use your pressure washer: Remove the spray tip, and start it up. Flow water, it'll flow, but certainly not spray. increase RPM, it'll flow more, but still not spray. Reinstall the spray tip, and you'll get pressurized spray, because the spray tip creates resistance to the flow, and thus pressure.

When talking hydrostatic tractors, recall that some smaller ones operate very simple hydraulics directly off the HST transmission. More commonly, there is a separate hydraulic pump driven by the engine "around" the transmission.

...Safety procedures - wear ear protectors and control the work zone. Chase away spectators, lookie-loos, cheerleaders, photographers, basically everyone who isn't directly involved with the unloading. Everybody STANDS STILL and does not move without my explicit instructions. Stand here, back up 15 feet, guide me into the hangar, etc.

Funny how people behave in these work situations. My pet peeve is spectators giving direction to the operator, or practically randomly yelling something. They all want to try to exert some type of control.
I have been involved in numerous recovery type operations, and there is ALWAYS someone not involved flapping their arms or jaw.
