Hi all, been lurking and reading for years, this is my first post. You wouldn't believe the amount of fun I've been having trying to replace my broken hydrostatic fan on my 2210 (busted by a stick at some unknown point in the last 200 hours). Removed ROPS, Fenders, Floor and Levers... got the U joint hung up, ended up breaking a cap. Went to the Deere dealer, and they told me this was not a serviceable joint, no parts available. John Deere of course would rather sell me the entire driveshaft for $500. Hahaha! Happily my dealer also has a good sense of humor... he did some digging, and instead ordered the U joint for the MFWD joint. It is different in clip design, and has no grease fitting, but it will fit and work on the main driveshaft just fine. I WISH I had listened to other posters about this problem and instead carefully cut the new fan in half and installed it that way... would have saved myself a boatload of trouble. Rest assured, I am having a buddy weld on a guard extension to keep this from ever happening again.
Anyone else ever try to get parts for this u joint?
