Pretty sure if you have a loader you wouldn’t like it without a declutch. Put a bypass switch in it so you can shut it off.
I was under the impression the OP had a compact tractor.

I guess I need to read more carefully.

Most operate a valve that returns the oil to tank. A second switch wired across the original would gib you the option of shutting of the declutch.
Do you have hydraulic schematic for this circuit? Just curious since not familiar with an unloading circuit that allows hydrostat to free wheel.

That makes sense as to why those switches would be there but like you insinuate, I can and would just increase the throttle for more lift and not press the drive pedal. I put a wire-tie on activating each of them and drove all over to see if I was bypassing something else too. I don't detect anything even though there are 3 wires to each switch and not two. I don't know but it seems to work FANTASTIC now! What a relief.
Sorry a little late to answer your question, but about 9 years ago I did exactly what you did with a tie wrap that you did.

Like you, I found it just to annoying and not safe to have that huge lag from when you remove your foot from the brake until the hydro kicks in. The only issue is if you loosely apply the parking brake and leave it on you can drive with it on, not good for your brakes.

Do you have shuttle shift or hydrostatic transmission?

My 1736 is a hydrostatic.
