LS XR4145
New to the club and bought my first LS. 2016 XR4145. Is it normal that when the forward pedal is pressed, when the engine is at an idol, for the hydro-static to squeal a bit? At half throttle or full throttle it is silent. Perhaps at low RPMs there is insufficient fluid circulating causing a noise? Thanks for any words of wisdom. I'm new to the Hydro-static transmission set up. Thanks.

Consider yourself fortunate. My Kubota squeals at all speeds though it is more prone to squeal at low RPM in high range. It has lessened over time - or I'm more deaf.

Yes, it's normal... with your throttle at idle the engine revs are under-powering the hydraulic pump.

Most HST tractors have a 'sweet spot', revolution-wise. My 4105's regular-use, non-PTO engaged, 'spot' is around 2100.

Oh, and g'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

Enjoy the site.

Yes. Like Wagtail says, increase your RPMs to increase your flow and it'll squeal less.
