Agreed, it is not built internally like a "tandem or Parallel" valve.....series configuration is available in sectional valves (older gresen valves)

Whereas the regen valve you speak of, are you referring to the ability to energize both ports on one cyl circuit to obtain faster travel speed reducing the power avail..??....I've seen this for speed purposes....not for operating 2 independent cyl circuits at the same time for controlled action....Yes/No/Maybe..??

I wasn't the one that started the "regen" part of this thread...I did not mention any particular regen setup....the most common regen setup is the one you mention, energizing both sides of a double acting, single rod (unequal piston areas), cylinder....

Anyway, MY own definition of regen, is when return oil from a cylinder/motor, that normally should go to tank, is redirected to another cylinder/motor.
That way this SSK valve is regenerating return flow from first cylinder into the second cylinder....

Regeneration of flow is kinda a science of its own....here is a deep dive into it..

akkamaan.. wondered when you were going to post that...LOL.. really good read... regen is a science unto it's self. on the bucket trucks we service some use it on some cylinders and some manufactures stay away from it with a passion. they can be fun to trouble shoot and more fun to get set properly..
