Can someone tell me what length hyd cylinder I need, or best way to figure? I have a 2019 XG3140... Do I just run my manual adjuster all the way in and take a measurement? Then the same all out?

Thanks for any info.

I doubt that you will be able to match the overall working range of manual link to a hydraulic link.

Get the asked for dimension of the following link and determine for yourself.

Typically a 17"-23" working length works well for your tractor. ;)

I have an XR3135 that I had the dealer install top and tilt on. I’m out of town right now but when I get home tonight/ tomorrow I’ll measure what they put on mine for you.

You set your top link so the implement is in a "normal" position and take a measurement from center of pin to center of pin. Then find a top link cylinder where that measurement falls in the center of it's range of motion which will allow you an equal amount of forward or back tilt with the top link.

In my case the "normal" measurement was 24" so I got this one from Agri Supply. The range was 20" to 28" and it works perfect.

I got my hydraulic top link from Fit Rite. If I did loose any range - it certainly hasn't been noticeable.

FWIW...
The top link cylinder cited above from Agri Supply can be shortened by several inches without losing any of the travel length...i.e., the rod end swivel eye can be cut off and re welded after shortening the rod...there are several inches of rod exposed when the cylinder is fully retracted...

And to further complicate a simple issue, I have two different cylinders. I have a shorter cylinder that I use for my disk.

Here are the two measurements on my XR3135. 15-20 inches

So you don't find that you ever need-want to be out further than 20"?

At this time no I don’t. But I’m only running a box blade right now. It goes far enough out I can really dig with the back cutting edge if I’m not careful.

I find having a longer stroke is great for a quick tach, allowing you to reach out with the top hook and pull an attachment into position, BUT making it shorter is sometimes also good to get more height when carrying some implements that are practically dragging on the ground otherwise.

After looking and a quick measurement.. I forgot/didn’t think about my quick attachment I’m sure that will add at least 4” for that..

Smitty i find with Pats quick attach also available at AGRI Supply at $170 the 20 inch to 28 inch cylinder works for me. You might want to go with the 1/4 or no more than 3/8 hoses for the hook up.

I am curious as to what each top links working lengths are?

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply; it's just been busy and, therefore, tough to get to switching out the cylinders. But, I had to take the mower off and hook up the disk today so I measured. My longest cylinder looks to be 18 3/4" closed and then about 27" open. The short one for my disk is 14" closed and about 18 1/2" fully extended. My disk is obviously a 3 pt. disk. I use my dump trailer to haul the combo (tractor and disk). The short cylinder was a necessity to get the back end of the disk up high enough to accommodate the ramp angle and load it onto my trailer. Without the short cylinder, the back gang drags.
