Case 495, 50hp utility tractor. I have some issues developing with the hydraulics.

There is a loud squeal. It sounds somewhat like a slipping belt but is definitely related to the hydraulics. If I move the loader around a bit or vary the engine RPM the squeal will stop for a bit.

The oil is getting very hot. Working on the driveway after about an hour of dragging the box blade up and down the oil reservoir in the transmission hump between the floor boards is far too hot to touch.

Using the loader to move a bunch of dirt the other day right as I had finished up and parked oil started to leak from the top of the steering cylinder, coming out where the steering column enters the bodywork. Working on the driveway with the box blade and loader today there was some minor leaking from the top of the steering column, the oil was getting hot again, and the squeal isn't going away.

Oil levels are fine, filters are changed on schedule. I'm guessing something involving a relief valve or the pump? I'm not even sure where to start diagnosing the problem, so any help would be great!

I would start by disconnecting and reconnecting any quick coupling.

It sounds like you have one not fully seated and it is restricting oil flow and thus tripping the relief valve and building up heat.
