The side link can only go on one way, so it wouldn't be a concern.

My top link won't break if it's on with the cylinder on the tractor end. It came with hoses that have 90 degree elbows where they attach to the cylinder.

Well yes and no. That assumes that when the top clevis is welded to the cylinder by the fabricator, it is properly oriented relative to the cylinder's ports (rod-end and cylinder-end). If not, the hoses and fittings can cause an interference problem for the specific tractor. :) Sounds obvious enough, but even with a very experienced vendor, there can be slip ups in fabrication. I know of two cases a few months ago where this happened on two side links. The vendor was great about making the correction, but he was able to do it before any damage occurred only because the owners noticed the problem when hooking the side links up.
