Hydraulic Pumps ?

Hi all,

Looking at a Chinese mini excavator the XN16 or XN18 Shandong Rhinoceros Engineering and was
wondering if anyone knows what the quality of these brands of pumps are like see pic attached outlining
Pumps and configuration.

The machine quality and or cost typically isn’t the issue with off branded equipment. It’s the availability of parts. Who do you call in 5 years when you need a part.

I’ve never heard of that specific brand. Good luck. I know the initial cost is appealing and tempting.

Well, TB, I have the XN08, and another nearly identical mini from another Chinese factory. There is a thread under "excavators".

I am happy with my unit, including the hydraulic components. I bought spares from the source, which are quite inexpensive. I also took apart one of the spare pumps and the valve stack to see how well they were made. I see no quality problems there. I also have a spare wheel motor, which I have not taken apart yet.

I have also bought numerous Chinese hydraulic pumps for other projects, including for a Kioti tractor. My Kioti went from a Cassappa brand pump to a Joyang, and they seem to be fine.

Since you are considering a Chinese mini-X, note that makers promote their use of Japanese/American/Euro engines or hydraulic components on some of their products, knowing that quality still needs some improvement in those areas. That is especially true of the engines with the XN16 and bigger: they use the Yanmar 500cc engine for quality and emissions.
