I have an old 1949 Farmall M tractor with a Du-Al loader, the oil reservoir for the loader is in the loader's frame.
Can I add another hydraulic pump on my tractor's PTO shaft and use the same loader reservoir for the additional pump? The pump for the loader runs off the tractors timing gear and is very low volume.
If so, can I just "T" into the existing "supply and return" hoses (to the frame reservoir) with another open center set of valves for the additional pump on the PTO?

Thanks for any info,
RoninKS

If you increase the flow, then you need to increase the reservoir capacity.

See if you can compute the volume of fluid in the loader arms, and if there is enough space there to add additional fluid for the PTO pump. However, consider this, that if the PTO pump will pump 15 GPM's, then you need 15 GAL of stowage space just for the PTO fluid. If not, a separate reservoir is necessary.

Compute total pumping volume at max rpm, and that will be the min total space you will need.
