Hi can anyone help me with this......How much hydraulic pressure in either bar or psi would i need to lift 1.5ton....My ram is 25mm bore and is 350mm full open and 250mm when closed..so it as a 100mm lift....with 3/8 ports....any ifo would be great thanks.....miles(mef3232)

You'll need ~3940 psi to produce 3000 lbs. of force with a 25 mm bore cylinder. If the cylinder is pushing directly on the load, that is. If your cylinder is mounted so the it's moving a lever, (like a loader arm for instance), then you'll need to figure in the ratio involved to see how much force you'll end up with.

If you say the cylinder stroke is 100mm, that means the 1.5 ton lifts 100mm, or is there some leverage on the lift equipment??

How did you measure this 25mm bore diameter???
Is that a double action cylinder?
Whats the rod diameter?

If no leverage, you get, as stated by brokenot, these 3940psi.....if there is leverage involved, you will need higher pressure....where 3940psi is probobly already beyond your system capacity

Most 25mm bore cylinders have a 12mm rod...

I wouldn't be lifting 3000 Lbs with that unless it was a perfectly balanced static load!

For the proper answerer you will need a diagram of the loader showing all the distances and angles involving the pin points.
