I have had my YM1700B for a month. I went over everything and made repairs to radiator, which was the only aparent issue for the previsous owner.

Crank case oil was fine and now I seem to be very low on oil? No signs of leaks anywhere. Was moving dirt with the FEL when I heard a holllow sound from the hydralic pump. Mystery as to where the oil went.

Also can I use the Hydraulic oil that I have for my log splitter?

Is the crankcase oil ok or over full? A high presure hydrolic leak can spray oil a long way. Wrap a cloth around the joints where the loader is spliced in. (most lickely place for a leak). UTF (universal tractor fluid) is most likely used in the trans/hydro.

Thanks for the input. Brought oil level up and everything is fine. You ask if the oil was over full? What was your comment it it was?

With a FEL installed you'll have a higher hydraulic oil capacity than what's in the manual.. Have you changed that oil yourself? John Deere 303 is a good choice, but not the only one.
