Hydraulic no-no

I have a YMG1800D with a FEL, it has worked perfectly since I bought it (1yr) Last night I was hooking up my Bush Hog and decided to unhook the FEL as I was mowing in a trail with trees close by, after pulling all the pins I shut off tractor and unhooked the hoses and reconnected the tractor hoses then went to back out and I had the bucket in the wrong Position ( 1st time unhooking) so I reconnected the hoses and started tractor, after getting the bucket to correct Position I accidently unhooked a hose before shutting off and I heard a small thud and guess what? Now no Hydraulic PSI! There is no leaks, what is the chance of a key shearing? hopefully not the pump.
Any Ideas?

From reading posts the key seems to go more than anything. If you have the pump I'm thinking about the key will be under a hex driver.

I am hoping the key sheared, would be cheaper than the pump, It happened in a instant after unhooking the hose. I knew it was a no-no but other tractors I have had in the past it was ok and I must of been daydreaming (of mowing)

If I'm reading your post correctly it seems very unlikely to have caused any damage from what you did.

edit...Disregard my comment. I don't know what "tractor hoses" are.

I just took off my Hydraulic pump, and yes it sheared the Key, bad news is it also broke off the threaded part of the shaft that holds the hex drive on. Well now what? I know the nut and part of stud dropped down the front cover, and I am considering options on the pump, buy new and pay the price, or I could tig weld the hex drive to the shaft and risk other damage if i make the same mistake, If I welded it I could make a weak weld so that would break first?? what is everyones thoughts

If it broke the shaft this time I would think it would break it again so why not weld it and give it a try. As you know those pumps aren't cheap. That's my opinion.

Well I removed the Hex drive from the Pump, it was stuck, then took a key and had to sand it down to fit then reinstalled the Hex and was able to thread a nut on the last thread left and then welded the nut, so I have the hex on with a key again, hopefully I will have time to get it installed within the next few days.
