Recently I had to replace a cracked piston in my little 2 cylinder diesel Ford 1300 with a 3 point. The engine is running just fine now, but the hydraulics for my accessory arms no longer work. They raised slightly and then dropped permanently down after I got the engine running again. I can handle repairing a diesel engine, but I'm stymied as to how to get my hydraulic lift working again to lift my accessories. Everything is hooked up the way it was before. The fluid level is OK as far as I can tell.

Just a quick guest. Check the hydraulic filter first. Might be cloged.

Are you sure the pump is connected properly? If that's Ok it could just be an air lock problem. Check the fluid level and cycle the 3-point a few times.

Did you have the hydraulic lines off of the pump ? Maybe the pump is not not fully primed. If this is the problem you might try pulling the inlet/suction hose off of the pump and filling it up with hydro fluid, then bolt it back on the pump. The suction line might be full of air and the pump cannot suck it out of there.
