Hydraulic Leak

I have an L3800 that is leaking hydraulic fluid. It only does it when I use my wood splitter. It leaks from a hose under the seat. Is there something that I am doing wrong. When using the wood splitter, I attach a bungee cord to the hydraulic engagement lever and then use the controls on my splitter to operate the ram.
A fair amount of oil leaks from it when I use it.

There was a thread about this here a while back....Something to do with the type valve in the splitter..power beyond type??? Hopefully one of the knowledgeable contributors to that thread will jump in and help you out.

Are you sure it does not appear to leak from the breather tube (overflow tube)?

>Does the oil get hot when splitting wood?

>Can you pinpoint where the hose is leaking? At the thread? At the swivel (if so equipped)?

A photo of the leaking hose may go a long way to helping to solve the issue.

If I understand you are strapping or holding you remote open if this is correct you must have a open center valve on the wood splitter, when you are moving the splitter cylinder in or out oil is flowing when you release the directional valve on the splitter to neutral does the tractor change sounds at like when you bottom out the splitter?
If you hear the tractor sound as if it is under load your fluid is not flowing.
